Each workday, several tasks can be accomplished with varying levels of experience. There is always lots of weeding to do as well as trail maintenance, plantings, seed gathering and trash pick-up. Throughout the seasons there may also be special projects where specific tasks are required. We can accommodate adults, school students, younger children accompanied by an adult and groups of any size. We supply gloves and a variety of tools but please feel free to bring your own. No need to register for a workday, just bring your enthusiasm and curiosity to the shed a little bit before 10am to sign in and get the instructions for the day. However, if you’d like to bring a large group, please contact us ahead of time so we can plan for you.

Legacy Park Community Build Week will bring families, neighbors, and alumni together to support Jenkintown students and the community at large. As a reminder, the playground construction is being overseen by Play by Design. The land work of this project will be handled by Eustace Engineering. However, the people power to construct and put the playground together comes from the helpers far and wide who want to be a part of Legacy.

Use the form below to sign up, share your skills, and tell us where you can help. We will reach out to connect and discuss details closer to the build date. Please complete all required fields so we can follow up with details and assignments.

During build week, July 28th – August 2nd, two or three Play by Design consultants will lead and supervise the volunteers who will build the playground. Volunteers will be separated into small groups to work on individual components of the project based on their skill levels.

Each day there will be 3 shifts that have meals provided. If you can block out a whole day and do three shifts, that’s great! If you want to come on multiple days, even better!

1st Shift 8:00am-12:00pm
Lunch 12:00pm-12:30pm
2nd Shift 12:30pm-4:30pm
Dinner 4:30pm-5:00pm
3rd Shift: 5:00pm-8:30pm

People of all ages and from all walks of life are encouraged to come together to build our new park.
